^{Romeo Crennel became the head coach of the
Kansas
City Chiefs on January 10th, 2012 after a three game trial period as
interim head coach following the firing of former head coach

Todd Haley. Crennel served as defensive coordinator
for most of the 2011 Chiefs season, a season in which the team had a
GREAT defense, but absolutely NO offense. After Todd Haley failed
to produce wins he was fired and Romeo Crennel was installed as interim
head coach until the dreary 2011 Chiefs season came to a close.
One major thing that Romeo Crennel contributed to the Chiefs 2011 season
was that he was the only head coach to coach a team to a win over the
Green Bay Packers that season. The Packers would have had a
perfect season if the

Kansas City Chiefs wouldn't have defeated the Green Bay Packers in
week 15. Many Packers fans showed up to

Arrowhead Stadium expecting to watch their perfect undefeated
Packers walk easily over the Chiefs - but they were dead wrong.
The Packers fans went home crying after the Chiefs absolutely dominated
the Packers and crushed their perfect season.}

^{It was speculated that after Romeo Crennel led the Chiefs to 2 victories
out of three games as interim head coach that he had a chance to be
promoted to the permanent head coaching position. Crennel was also
head coach of the Cleveland Browns, where he was an absolute failure
posting an unimpressive record of 24 and 40. The Chiefs are not
expected to make a miraculous turn around due to the hiring of Romeo
Crennel as the owners of the Chiefs will not spend any money on badly
needed players. The Chiefs will continue to be a mediocre team at
best no matter who they hire as head coach.}

Coach Romeo Crennel was released in 2012 and replaced by head coach Andy Reid.
